About us

West City Fellowship was established in 1988 to serve the spiritual and social needs of the Chesterville and Westville communities.  As the needs and our programmes evolved and diversified, it became necessary to formalise our ongoing social responsibility programme and Ukuthula Trust was thus established as a Non-Profit Organisation in 2011.

WCF has deep roots in Chesterville, west of Durban in South Africa.  In the early 1990’s we broke the dividing walls of apartheid, racism and hatred to minister to a community ravaged by poverty and unemployment.  Our vision was to build a relationship between ‘black’ Chesterville and neighbouring ‘white’ Westville; to join hands together – ‘Bamba Izandla’ – to help a community in need.

Today those needs still weigh heavily on the men, women and children of Chesterville – and on our hearts too. Ukuthula Trust will continue to serve this community through educational and social development, training and employment, enterprise development and our Restorative Justice Programme.  We are a part of their story, as they a part of ours.  You can be too.
